Pins from the Metacosm

Advanced warning: I'll be locking orders in one week, so if you need to make any changes to your survey, now's the time to do it! This will only lock orders for people who have completed their survey, and we have a few left who haven't, so if you haven't yet please do so as soon as you can.

Once I lock orders, I will charge shipping and lock addresses. Then I can start shipping for people who didn't order the collab pin, and I'll probably do digital orders shortly after that as well. You can read about the babies while waiting for your pins 😎

On the collab pin front: I got the sample image from my manu some time back (which I shared in a previous update) so I imagine they'll be done with the full run of manufacturing relatively soon. I expect to be shipping for everyone no later than mid-April (unless something terrible happens 🫠 But I'll keep you all updated either way!)

Hello everyone!!

First I want to extend a big thank you to the 59% of you who completed your survey already! It helps us out a lot to have the info on item counts and addon numbers as quickly as possible so we can prepare.

Also, so far a LOT lot of you have purchased the eBook addons (and even some paperbacks!) which is so awesome!! I am both artist and writer in equal measures so while I put my whole heart into designing these pins both to be visually interesting and to represent our beloved babies, I'm also so excited that you folks are interested in the books themselves! We hope you enjoy them!

Speaking of the item counts, I have been dying to know which pins were the most popular, given the way we structured the pledges as being "One Pin," "Two Pins," etc.

The winner so far is not one I ever expected to be popular: Opal Sword! After that is Sword of Justice, with the others coming literally in a dead heat at third place. These were ironically the two pins that gave me the most difficulty, so I feel very validated that my hard work paid off lol.

Just for funsies here's a collage of some of the rejected designs:

As you can see, Chani's and Ara's (Gunslinger and Angelic Heart) didn't really change much. The frame around Redd's (Golden Janus) drove me insane and I was literally changing its design up to a week before the campaign launched (lolsob). Pheonix's (Swords of Justice) gave me some strife but when I redesigned it once into its current form, it stuck. Ty's (Opal Sword), though. Good gods. I redesigned that one from the ground up probably 6 or 7 times. And even after I came up with the brooch idea, the shape itself stymied me for the longest time. Ty's gotta be difficult, 100% of the time. Very in-character for him.

Anyway! Keep filling out those surveys and hopefully we'll have some more news for you soon!

Aaaaand surveys are out! Check your spam folder if you don't see yours in the next couple of days, and make sure your info is correct on the actual survey!

For those of you who got an eBook (thank you so much by the way!!), I'll probably do those in a week to two weeks to give you time to edit your survey if necessary.

Hey everybody! Just a quick update this time, to let you all know that the 'smoke test' surveys are going out. What that means is that a small percentage of you will get a survey as a test to make sure I didn't screw anything up lol.

So if you are one of those people and you happen to see something wrong, please let me know!

Also, we still have a few failed charges. If you did not get a "charged successfully for Pins from the Metacosm" email you may be one of them. If you haven't gotten any automatic emails from BackerKit, check your spam.

The campaign is over, and what a smashing success, especially for our first go at pins! Thank you so much to everyone who supported us!

What's next?

Charges should have gone out for most people, so make sure to be checking your spam (just in case!) over the next week or so as they roll out. You'll get an email either when the charge goes through or if it fails.

The collab pins were just approved and put into production, so hopefully we'll have pics to share before the surveys go out.
